General Assembly Minutes - 1st of November
- Anyone on site, if you are not talking to the public please ask infrastructure if you can assist in anyway. Infrastructure maintain and move tents are are increasing tidying up after the rest of the camp and preparing meals, and of course, providing 24-hour security. If you can make their job easier in anyway, please do as without them, there would quite literally be NO OCCUPATION.
- Please revert all media enquires to the Occupy Edinburgh Media Team, and please refrain from commenting should a journalist show up out of the blue. Words can be deliberately used out of context.
- Supporters who wish to be updated by means other than email - We can contact you with updates with an SMS txt of phone call if you so wish. Each day a physical form of the mailing list will be at the camp’s front desk and it is possible to sign up for the mailing list on our main website anytime.
- We are to create a petition due to numerous public requests.
- We urge new campers to make themselves familiar with out Security Team to ensure the safety of everyone.
- Open forums will occur every Saturday at 3:30 PM in the main tent.
- We ask anyone currently creating or designing banners to include our main website address: www.occupyedinburgh.org
- Security Update: Direct contact numbers for the Lothian and Borders Police are displayed in the main tent to ensure safety. A reference number is also displayed. The camp is now in possession of several panic alarms in addition to whistles for any vulnerable campers.
- Any old tables, shelves, draws or other types of food storage are welcomed. Should anyone find such items on Free Cycle or Gumtree, please contact Infrastructure.
